If the names Ben Nicholson, Naum Gabo (sculpture), Terry Frost, Barbara Hepworth, and Patrick Heron don’t grab your imagination (St Ives artists 1930s-50s) – then the dramatic rocky coastlines which inspired them, sometimes shown in sunshine sometimes stormy – always braved by the affable Dr James Fox, art historian – may.  Due in part to European artists fleeing WW2, internationally important artists came and inspired a British flourishing of Modern Art.
