Accidental Artist – Jerry’s Map

Jerry Gretzinger describes himself as an accidental artist.  Faced with a boring summer job, he began to doodle a map of an imagined place.  To develop it further, he adapted a pack of playing cards as a random number generator – and later to give instructions, as he developed the map, square by square.  With a gap out for 20 years for raising a family, the whole project has been on the go for 50 years.  Along the way, the development of computer/info technology has also changed its development.  Intriguing story.  Jerry comes across as a gentle soul, whose mapmaking has given him and its visitors a great deal of enjoyment.
