“The Sunday Times magazine” page 19, 22nd Jan 2017, article on the selfie “Here’s looking at me”
This photo in the weekend’s Sunday Times stopped me in my tracks.
Is this what modern life has come to? We are not ‘in the moment’ with eyes and ears alert, present to, and with someone. We just want a photo memory. And if that means turning your back on the person you’ve come to see and hear, that is somehow acceptable? Ironically, the posters which Hillary Clinton is carefully positioned in front of, read “Stronger Together”. We are becoming selfie-ish.
